Dumbbells hung from private part: The Kerala ragging Horror

In Kottayam, Kerala, three first-year students filed a complaint with the police, which explained a series of cruel acts in their college.


A ragging case is now gaining huge attention. The brutal ragging which included, dumbbells hung from private parts, stabbed with compasses and beaten harshly for three months- shocked the people in Kerala.
This incident took place at Government Nursing college in Kottayam. All the three students who are natives of Thiruvananthapuram has now filed case against Kottayam Gandhinagar police.

About the case:
According to the students, the violent ragging acts which started in November 2024 continued nearly for three months.
The complaint then led to the suspension of the students and their arrest, for ragging.
As informed by the police, the first-year students were forced to stand naked while their seniors hung dumbbells from their private parts. The students were also injured using sharp items.

The cruelty was beyond what anyone can imagine. Lotion was applied to the students’ wound by the bullies, and when they screamed in pain, the lotion was shove into their mouth.
The seniors not only did these cruel activities, but also threatened the victims to not report the abuse.
The compliant also mentioned the heinous activity of the seniors, where they filmed these abuse and later blackmailed the victims.
The reports suggests that, the seniors even used to forcefully take money from the juniors.

All the culprits are now in police custody and will be produced before magistrate on Wednesday.

However, this incident has created, not only a shock among the audience, but also served as an eye-opening terrific lesson or incident.

 

In this current era, it is actually disheartening to hear, another such brutal bullying incident. That too from a State like Kerala- reported to have the highest percentage of literacy rate in India.
