On Friday morning, JioHost, a recently formed joint venture from the merger of Viacom 18 and Star India, announced the launch of Jio Hotstar. This platform is created by bringing together Jio Cinema and Disney Plus Hotstar, which are two of India’s leading OTT platforms for sports, entertainment and more.

What will be the new plan for the audience

This means that these platforms are merging their content and bringing their subscribers together. The new platform claims to have about 3 lakh hours of entertainment and more than 50 crore users’. Will soon replace the old subscription plan with the new plan. Last week, the old Jio Cinema Premium subscription was stopped for all users. From this, it was speculated that the new platform will have different plans and slabs. Although Jio Hotstar has not yet announced the detailed plan, the press note mentions attractive subscription plans to suit the needs of different audiences, starting at Rs 149 per quarter. Jio Cinema and Disney Plus Hotstar subscribers will be able to easily switch and set their JioHotstar subscription.

Major cricket tournaments like IPL, WPL and ICC events will also be on this platform. Viewers will also be able to watch the Premier League, Wimbledon and domestic leagues like Pro Kabaddi and ISL.
