MLA Raja Singh Unhappy, Threatens to Quit BJP

Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh is popular for his outspoken views. It is this bold nature that brought him so many supporters and often landed in controversies. He never shies away from speaking his mind. He is in the news once again for his bold comments – this time against his own party. MLA Raja Singh said that he is unhappy with Party decisions and is ready to quit BJP if the party doesn’t need him.

I’m Harassed

Raja Singh said that since 2014 he has been facing harassment within the BJP. He is fed up and ready to leave the party if it is not happy with him. “I have endured harassment ever since I joined the party. If the leadership believes I am no longer needed and asks me to leave, I am ready to go,” he claimed.

No Respect for Sitting MLA

The reason for T. Raja Singh’s recent revolt is the selection of the Golconda BJP district president. He said, “I asked the party to appoint a SC or Backward Caste leader, but they chose T Uma Mahendra, who has close connections with AIMIM, as the new president of the Gosha Mahal-Golconda unit. When asked a key party leader about this decision, the answer was disgruntled. “This response exposed a hidden conspiracy against me. Until now, I have fought against the BJP’s political rivals—AIMIM and Congress. But now, it is unfortunate that I have to fight within my own party as well,” he complained. He is unhappy that his suggestion as a sitting MLA was not taken into consideration while selecting the district president. “So why was my suggestion ignored here? The party must explain. The current district president should be changed immediately,” he demanded.

Singh also made some bold comments on some party members. “I have learned to fight for Dharma and uphold righteousness but I have not learned broker politics that some in the party follow. These people are responsible for BJP’s declining influence in the state,” he added.

This is not New

Raja Singh has often been in the news for making provocative remarks and aggressive speeches on religious and political matters. Hate speeches, suspensions, and arrests are not new to him. In 2022, the BJP suspended him for making controversial remarks on Prophet Muhammad and later reinstated him in 2023.
