China finds new Corona Virus!

Chinese scientists have now came up with a new discovery.
But the saddest part is, it is not something to be excited about!

A new bat coronavirus with a potential for animal-to-human transmission has been found by the Chinese researchers.
It was discovered that the virus, known as HKU5-CoV-2, shared a human receptor with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that caused COVID-19. The fear in people are now awakened by this news as Corona was marked as an epidemic that killed millions of people .
According to reports, the study was led by Shi Zhengli- a leading virologist who has been doing extensive research on bat coronaviruses.

This follows concerns of another Covid-style pandemic sparked by a spike in flu-like human metapneumovirus (HMPV) cases in China.The research involved scientists from the Guangzhou Laboratory, Guangzhou Academy of Sciences, Wuhan University, and the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

However, doctors point out that HMPV has existed for a long time and that it is not like COVID. They claim that the seasonal rise in HMPV that is usually observed in the winter is all that is happening in China and other nations.

About the discovery:

According to the study, HKU5-CoV-2 can attach itself to the human angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE2) receptor, which SARS-CoV-2 uses to infect human cells.The latest discovery is a new lineage of the HKU5 corona virus first identified in a Japanese bat in Hong Kong.
There is still no idea about the origin of the virus, however some studies suggest it might be originated in bats and then jumped to humans. Shi Zheng li also said that, the institute shouldn’t be blamed for the outbreak.
As of now, images of hospitals with masked patients have went viral on social media.But however, the researchers confirmed that the risk of widespread human transmission is low for this particular virus.
