Microsoft open new campus in Hyderabad: Government Promises and Company Plans

Microsoft celebrated its 25th anniversary in Hyderabad on Thursday when Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Minister for IT & Industries D Sridhar Babu opened a new facility.


In Gachibowli, 2,500 more workers will be housed in a 1.1 million square foot building accredited by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.

Company promise: In this new building Microsoft is going to hire 4,800 new employees. Microsoft already has around 20,000 employees in India, half of them work from Hyderabad. On Thursday, Microsoft has announced that they are going to train 1.2 Lakh persons in the state partnership with Telangana Government.


This training will be beneficial for over 500 government schools and 50,000 students in Telangana. This training program will help upskilling 20,000 industry professionals all over Telangana. They also focused to train over 50,000 government officials in the digital productivity, AI generation and cybersecurity sectors.

In the upcoming years Microsoft is going to invest 15,000 crore in the state for developing AI data center’s. This will increase the innovation sector, AI solutions from the state and also employment too.

Telangana Government Collaboration with Microsoft:

Hyderabad and Microsoft has grown together from past few years. Presently Hyderabad is the IT hub with a technology powerhouse. The city attracts global innovations and talents, this new campus will build the innovation hub into a next level.

Telangana Government has signed an MOU between Microsoft and ITE&C department exchanged by the Chief minister. This was the direct outcome after the meeting with CEO Satya Nadella in January 2025.

Government has taken an initiative and started a program ADVANT(I)GE TELANGANA program. In this program they planned to train over 500 government school which will benefit 50,000 students. They also planned to train 50,000 government officials for the critical areas of the state. This partnership will help more than 1.2 Lakh people in job generation.
