Recently, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar declared that all future Metro lines in Bengaluru will be built as part of double-decker flyover projects, which will cost Rs 9,800 crore.
Following the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited’s (BMRCL) first double-decker flyover between Ragigudda and Silkboard—the upper deck for Metro and the bottom deck for vehicular traffic—the decision was made.
The government is planning to build Double-decker roads which will be incorporated into all newly constructed Metro corridors. About 40 kilometers are covered by the plan. They are planning for the next 30 to 40 years in addition to today. BBMP and BMRCL will split the expenses 50/50.
Bangalore Metro Timings Details:

Perks and Discounts:
As Bangalore Metro authorities have announced an increase in metro fare up to 50 percent from the same routes. The interesting point is that authorities have announced separate metro fares for peak hours and non-peak hours. During the peak hours a five percent discount will be given if we use smart cards and even in the non-peak hours an additional 5 percent discount will be given if we use smart cards.
Bengaluru metro fares are very reasonable; these fares start from 10 rupees and go up to 80 or 90 rupees.
Apart from the smart card and token system, Bangalore metro has introduced a new system for the group travelers, if a group of people are travelling together a minimum of 25 persons. The group can avail a group ticket which will be having atleast 10% of discount. Medium groups (100 to 1000) can get 15% discount and large groups more than 1000 persons can get 20% discount.
