Kiran Rao recently opened up about co-parenting her child Azad Rao Khan with Aamir Khan. Kiran appeared on Kareena Kapoor’s show, What Women Want. The director revealed that Aamir Khan Too Has ‘Dad’s Problem’.
Aamir Khan, who was previously married to Kiran Rao, is looking for a life partner. Meanwhile, the celebrity couple continues to co-parent their son, Azad Rao Khan. Kiran recently disclosed that his ex-husband Aamir knows nothing about their son Azad’s education. However, the filmmaker stated that their co-parenting responsibilities had gotten smoother.
During the most recent episode of Kareena Kapoor Khan’s show What Women Want, Kiran Rao discussed co-parenting with Aamir Khan, claiming it is difficult because he is a busy man. While Kiran was married to Aamir, the Laapataa Ladies director stated that she would be involved in primary parenting. Following their divorce, she saw changes in the 59-year-old superstar’s approach to co-parenting.
Speaking about how co-parenting has evolved, Kiran added that she can now rest because Aamir has become more “involved and conscious” of his responsibilities as a father. However, the Laal Singh Chadha actor has yet to resolve Azad’s school-related issues.
The filmmaker said, “Aamir knows nothing about school. I think it is a majority of a dad’s problem. They are like school ka matt bolna. (Don’t ask me about school). I will do whatever else.”
Kiran Rao opened up about her relationship with son Azad, stating he is a lovely kid and that she has had “good days” with him. Kiran mentioned that they knew each other fairly well. The producer, who refers to herself as his support system and vice versa, revealed that she spends time with her son Azad when he is down.
Meanwhile, Kiran Rao revealed what she “barely tolerates” about Aamir Khan. Kiran stated that Aamir frequently gives her lengthy lectures that border on “mansplaining”.
In an earlier podcast with Rhea Chakraborty in August of this year, Aamir Khan was asked about his thoughts about marrying for the third time. Aamir revealed that he is yearning for the company because the celebrity dislikes living alone. The 59-year-old celebrity has revealed that he is close to his ex-wives, Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao. The Ghulam actor further revealed that he has reconciled with them and grown closer to his children. Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao married in 2005. Their son, Azad Rao Khan, was born through surrogacy in 2011. The former couple announced their separation in 2021.
