Half-Day Schools Begin Soon in Telangana: Rising Temperatures!

Half-Day Schools Begin Soon in Telangana: Amid rising temperatures in the state, half-day schools are likely to open soon. Half-day schools were expected to start in the second week of March. However, parents are demanding the early opening of schools for respite from the scorching heat.


This year, the temperature is forecast to touch 40 degrees Celsius in many places in the districts and Hyderabad will see it between 36 degrees Celsius and 38 degrees Celsius. Given the above normal temperatures expected in the month of March, parents are in favour of early start of half-day schools.

Half-Day Schools Begin Soon

According to official sources, half-day schools may start from March 15. The state government has already announced half-day schools for Urdu medium schools, Urdu medium sections of parallel medium schools and Urdu medium sections of DIETs during the Ramzan month from March 2. Parents want the government to implement it in other schools as well. If announced, the schools will have classes from 8 am to 12.30 pm. Midday meals will be served after classes in government and local body schools.

Current Temperature Trends: Telangana is currently experiencing warm weather, with daytime temperatures ranging between 30°C and 35°C in various districts. Cities like Hyderabad, Khammam, and Hanamkonda are witnessing temperatures around 35°C, while areas like Adilabad are slightly cooler at 30°C. Nights are relatively pleasant, with temperatures dropping to 18°C in some regions.

As March progresses, the Telangana state will see a gradual rise in temperatures. The previous reports suggest that our state might experience one of the hardest summers in the coming months. There are Chances of increased heat waves during April and May, with soaring temperatures above 40°C in many districts. The current weather reports suggest that this year we might experience a similar year with possibilities of scorching heat waves in April and May.
