Fans have been looking forward to Shah Rukh Khan’s next film, the action thriller King, starring his daughter Suhana Khan. In recent appearances, the actor has worn a cap or beanie to conceal his image in the next picture. Now, he’s opened up about having a new haircut for the film and disclosed that he no longer has long hair.

On November 2, 2024, Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his birthday with his followers at a spectacular event. During the ceremony, a still from the actor’s 2023 blockbuster film Pathaan appeared on the screen behind him, showing him with long hair. Speaking about it, SRK stated that he enjoyed having long hair.

Then he revealed, “Ab mere baal lambe nahi hain… maine kaat diye hain King ke liye (Now my hair is no longer long… I have cut it for King).”

Later, Shah Rukh Khan shared a sincere message of gratitude to his followers for making his birthday unforgettable. He tweeted a snapshot from the occasion in which he was seen in his typical position, arms spread wide. His fans could be seen clapping in the background.

SRK wrote, “Thank you for coming over and making my evening special… my love to everyone who made it for my birthday. And for those who couldn’t, sending you all my love.”

King is Shah Rukh Khan’s debut collaboration with his daughter, Suhana Khan. The film will be directed by Sujoy Ghosh and produced by Gauri Khan and Siddharth Anand. Abhishek Bachchan plays the antagonist, and Abhay Verma is known for his role in Munjya.

In an exclusive update, Pinkvilla disclosed that the producers want to release King in January 2025. The shooting will begin in Mumbai and continue on a marathon schedule throughout Europe.

King is targeting a release date of Eid 2026. A source close to the development stated, “A film like King is apt for the Eid 2026 period, and that’s what Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand are aiming at. It has been a while since a Shah Rukh Khan film was released on Eid, and this would mark his return to the festival after the historic success of Chennai Express.”
