Half-Day Schools in Telangana from March 15

Considering the heatwave and rise in temperature across the state, the Telangana Education Department announced half-day school for government, as well as aided and private schools. The schools will operate from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM, starting from March 15, 2025. This half-day school schedule applies to all primary, upper primary, and high schools. It also ordered schools to arrange mid-day meals at 12:30 PM.

This decision relieves students and teachers from the rising heat as the climate peaks in the afternoon. As per the orders, April 23, 2025, will be the last working day for the current academic year. Summer vacations begin from April 24 to June 11, 2025. The following academic year of 2025-26 will commence on June 12, 2025.

Special classes will continue for schools preparing for 10th class SSC public examinations. Schools with SCC centres will operate from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Recently, the Department of Public Health and Family Welfare of Telangana issued precautionary actions to overcome the adverse effects of extreme heat. Protection from scorching heat helps prevent heat strokes, dehydration, and exhaustion.
