Sunita Williams, Butch Wilmore to return to Earth on March 18: NASA

Sunita Williams: US space agency NASA has confirmed the return of both its astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore to Earth. Both the astronauts, who have been stranded in the International Space Station (ISS) for the last nine months, will land on the beach in Florida, USA. Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams will be brought back in SpaceX Crew Dragon Craft. Dragon Craft has reached ISS to pick them up. NASA has said that this vehicle carrying astronauts will arrive on the Florida coast at around 5:57 pm on Tuesday (3:27 am on Wednesday, March 19 in India).

Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams went into space on their mission in June last year. Their Starliner spacecraft had malfunctioned. In such a situation, both were stranded on the ISS for more than nine months. Now, SpaceX Dragon is being used to bring them back. Both astronauts will return to Earth on Tuesday evening, along with two other passengers. NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov will also return in the Dragon capsule.

NASA has said in its statement that SpaceX will broadcast the return of Crew-9 to Earth live from the ISS. This broadcast will begin at 10:45 pm on Monday (8:30 am on March 18 in India) with the preparation of closing the hatch of the Dragon spacecraft. After this, its streaming will continue till the landing of the spacecraft. This will enable viewers to witness this historic event.

Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmer went to the International Space Station on June 5 last year. They were to return to Earth after just a week, but both got stuck there due to a malfunction in the Boeing Starliner. While in space, Sunita Williams has made records by doing many important things. Indian-American Sunita Williams is one of the most experienced astronauts in the world.
