Punjab Police Busts Cross-Border Drug Smuggling Ring, Seizes Weapons and Drugs

The Punjab Police have successfully stopped the major drug and weapon smuggling operation at the Pakistan and Punjab border. Smugglers were using drones to transport illegal drugs and firearms across the border. The police arrested four suspects and seized weapons along with ammunition and a large quantity of drugs.


 

The Punjab government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is taking strong action against drug trafficking. The police are conducting frequent raids across the state by targeting drug dealers and their networks. As part of the crackdown authorities have demolished properties belonging to drug traffickers and seized large amounts of illegal substances. These efforts have significantly reduced drug related crimes in the state.


 

Drug traffickers are constantly finding new ways to smuggle illegal substances. They are now using drones to transport drugs and weapons from Pakistan into India. Punjab Police are closely monitoring border activities and successfully intercepting these illegal shipments.

 

Police arrested four smugglers involved in drug smuggling through drones during a recent special operation. The criminals opened fire when officers attempted to capture them. In response, the police fired back injuring two suspects. After the encounter police has recovered three guns and multiple rounds of ammunition along with seven kilograms of opium and ₹1 lakh in cash.

 

Government’s Plan to Make Punjab Drug Free

 

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has set an ambitious goal to make Punjab drug free within three months. The police are conducting continuous operations to dismantle smuggling networks. The authorities remain committed to eliminating drug-related activities in the state.

 

Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav stated that Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI is trying to create instability in Punjab by supporting drug and weapon smuggling. However Punjab Police are determined to take strict action against these threats and maintain law and order.
