Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar are a beloved couple in South Indian cinema. While Namrata usually avoids discussing her husband’s films, she recently surprised fans by revealing which Mahesh Babu movie she dislikes the most.

Mahesh Babu began his Tollywood career in 1999 with Rajakumarudu which was a commercial success. But not all his films have seen the same fate. He acted in Vamsi in the year 2000. The film is directed by B. Gopal known for hits like Samarasimha Reddy and Narasimha Naidu. Expectations for Vamsi were high with B. Gopal’s impressive track record

The movie also featured Namrata Shirodkar as the female lead. It was during the making of Vamsi that their love story began. The film failed to connect with the audience despite its scenic international locations and big budget. Many viewers criticized the weak storyline and the forced mass elements in the climax. Even the director later acknowledged flaws in the narrative.

In a recent interview, Namrata candidly expressed her opinion saying, “Vamsi is the only film I didn’t like at all. It was a major flop in Mahesh’s career. But I love his movies like Murari, Athadu and Pokiri.”

Although Vamsi did not perform well, it played a pivotal role in Mahesh and Namrata’s personal lives. Their relationship grew stronger leading to their marriage. Mahesh carefully chose his projects following this set back and made a grand comeback with Okkadu in 2003 which marked a turning point in his career.

Meanwhile Mahesh Babu is currently busy with his film SSMB29 directed by Rajamouli. Mahesh Babu along with Priyanka Chopra have been busy shooting this highly anticipated movie.The team had been filming the initial schedule in Odisha and videos from the sets surfaced online. Recently makers completed the Odisha schedule and once again photos from the sets have spread across the internet. Also Priyanka recently shared a series of pictures including one from the sets.
