Merut Merchant Navy officer murder case: Complete Details

Warning: This article contains details of a gruesome murder case took place in Merut that may be disturbing to some readers

In the case of Saurabh Rajput, a former merchant navy officer from Merut, gruesome details keep coming to light. It is said that his wife Muskan Rastogi and her boyfriend Sahil Shukla slain, chopped up, and sealed inside a cement drum in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.

According to the police reports, Muskan and Lover Sahil slept with the victim’s severed body parts. Police reveal how she and her lover murdered Saurabh and lived with his dismembered body. Reportedly, Sahil kept the severed head and hands in his room for 24 hours while Muskan hid the torso in a bed box and slept on it.

Murder Plot and Planning:

Muskaan claimed to have depression and went to a doctor on Sharda Road on February 22, 2025, to get a prescription for sleeping tablets, which are only available with a doctor’s prescription. She then conducted a Google search and discovered other kinds of intoxicants and sleeping medicines. On the doctor’s prescription, she then wrote their names herself. Together with her lover, she traveled to Khairnagar and took the intoxicating and sleeping drugs. They spent ₹800 on two meat-cutting knives, ₹300 on a razor, and ₹300 on a polybag from Sharda Road.

Execution Day:

Saurabh gave Muskaan the gourd kofta stew to reheat on March 3 after bringing it from his mother Renu’s home. She infused the meal with sleeping tablets and other narcotics. Saurabh ate it and then fell asleep shortly after. She called her lover, Sahil, and asked him over after Saurabh went to sleep. Sahil and Muskaan killed Saurabh by repeatedly stabbing him with a knife after they arrived.

After dragging his body to the restroom, they used a razor to cut his throat. They then cut off his wrists and hands. They intended to dissect the body, place the pieces in poly bags, and then dispose of them in various places. They concealed Saurabh’s torso inside the double bed’s storage section after placing it in a plastic bag. The hands were severed at the wrists, and Sahil carried them to his home in a different bag.

He was unable to get rid of them, so on March 4, he put them in a room at home. For a full day, Saurabh’s hands and head were at Sahil’s place. Sahil bought a drum from Ghantaghar on March 5 and put the torso—which had been stored in a plastic bag—into it. He brought the hands and head a moment later and put them in the drum too. After that, he filled the drum, sealed it, and covered it with a cement and dust combination. Before authorities discovered the murder, the bones were hidden in a cement-sealed drum.

After Murder:

According to the reports, Muskan and Sahil left Merut for a vacation to Himachal for a cover-up from the police tracking. It is reported that they both went to Manali, Kasol, and Shimla while Saurabh’s body was sealed off in the blue drum with cement.
