Happiness Rankings in 2025: The thirteenth edition of the annual report recognizes March 20 as the United Nations International Day of Happiness. In this context, people worldwide are eager to see if their country ranks in the Happiness Rankings. Do you know which Countries Top the Happiness Rankings in 2025? The report, published by the Wellbeing Research Centre at the University of Oxford, in partnership with Gallup and the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, is based on self-assessed life evaluations from 2022 to 2024.
Finland is No. 1
Finland managed to keep its No. 1 ranking for the eighth consecutive year. whereas, the United States at No. 24 marked to earn the lowest ranking.
According to the reports, Declining social trust and happiness have been major factors that made the United States and other parts of Europe be the last in line, among the list of happiest countries. There are happiness issues in other English-speaking nations outside the US. The UK recorded its lowest average life evaluation since 2017 at number 23. At number 18, Canada, which has experienced a drop in happiness over the past ten years, managed to stay in the top 20.
“Nordic countries like Finland continue to benefit from universally available and high-quality health, education and social support systems. Inequality of wellbeing is also low,” said Ilana Ron-Levey, managing director at Gallup.
