The purpose of this move by WhatsApp may be to reduce the number of spam broadcast messages received by users. Earlier also, the platform had limited the number of marketing messages sent by businesses, so that spam can be reduced to a great extent. Let’s know about it.
On this update, Meta says that if a person or business wants to send more messages to a large group. Then they will have to resort to other tools like status and channel. According to this report, WhatsApp Business users can currently send unlimited broadcast messages, but it seems that Meta is planning to bring a paid version in the future.
In the coming months, WhatsApp is also preparing to test some new features, which will provide the facility of customized broadcast messages like customized messages for product updates and holiday sales. Not only this, the feature of scheduling messages in the app is also going to be available soon. Apart from this, the pilot program, in which merchants will also get 250 customized messages for free. After this, payment will have to be made to send extra messages. However, the price of these messages has not been decided yet.
Earlier this month, WhatsApp started testing a new feature, which will add the reply to a message to the thread. This will make it easier to track the chat. Apart from this, WhatsApp is working on another feature, which will give the option to turn off the camera before picking up the video call.
