Hyderabad: Two Missing Minor Girls r*ped at OYO room!

Hyderabad: Social media connections are taking us a long way. While there are some who use them for good, there are others who misuse them, which could even ruin their lives. This is such a case, where we can see the influence of social media in the minor peoples’ lives.

This incident took place in Alwal, Medchal malkajgiri district, Telangana. Two young men kidnapped , two minor girls after chatting with them on social media. According to reports, the youths kidnapped the girls, took them to a lodge, and raped them. Based on the complaint of the girls’ parents, the police registered cases under the kidnapping and POCSO Act and arrested the boys. The police have registered cases against the OYO managers who gave them permission against the rules.

Karnati Mehanchand from ECIL, Hyderabad area and Akula Satwik from Dammaiguda area were two friends, who were often active on social media. But one day, two girls from Machabollaram got introduced to them through Instagram. The young men who had become acquainted with them chatted with them for five months, talked on the phones, and pretended to love them. Believing their words, the two girls left the house on Wednesday without telling anyone. However, they did not return home until night. The parents, who were worried about this, approached the police. Based on the complaint of the girls’ parents, the police registered a missing person case and started an investigation. The police, who started the investigation, examined the CCTV cameras. Finally, they were found to be at the OYO Lodge in ECIL.


 

Both of the boys were arrested after it was confirmed that the girls were raped by them. Since the girls were minors, cases were registered against them under the kidnapping and POCSO Acts. The boys are kept under the remand. Meanwhile, the police took the girls to the hospital for medical examinations. The police also registered cases against the Oyo Lodge managers who gave permission against the rules.
