100 foot temple chariot fell during the festival procession

This shocking incident took place in Karnataka’s Huskur Madduramma Devi Jatra Mahotsava on Saturday. In this incident, almost 2 people died and more than 4 to 5 people were injured. According to the sources, this chariot collapsed because of two reasons. One is because people didn’t manage the chariot properly and this misbalance occurred because of crowded the area, another reason was because of the heavy wind and the chariot was also very tall.

It is said that this size of chariot won’t be perfect to run on streets when the weather is good. In response to this incident, officials and temple authorities immediately dismantled this chariot. The public got frustrated at the local government’s lack of preparation. Lots of people, including daily wagers and roadside sellers, were having financial difficulties due to unpaid medical expenses. The administration allegedly failed to provide financial support, according to the families of the victims and injured.

Officials were criticized by locals for failing to visit the scene of the tragedy or provide support to the bereaved relatives. A case has been filed at the police station, and investigations are still underway. Although no casualties were reported, the Rayasandra chariot collapsed during the celebration in 2024.
