Why did Murugadoss choose Salman Khan?

Director Murugadoss who is famous for his films like Ghajini and holiday is now coming up with his new hindi film. He collaborated with Bollywood king Salman Khan in Sikandar, which is going to be released on March 30th, 2025.

In the trailer launch event he shared about working with Salman Khan and his unexpected meet with him in Chennai. He shared a old incident which was in Chennai, where he saw Salman Khan for the first time.

His Experience and First Meet:

Murugadoss said, “I was struggling as an AD (Assistant Director) long back. So I wanted to watch a shoot, so I went to Prasad Studios in Chennai. I requested the security guard to let me in and watch me shoot. He allowed me on two conditions. You have to be in the corner and you cannot talk to anyone. He gave me 20 minutes. After that, I had to leave.”

Following to this he said, “So, I entered. I don’t know what the shoot was. Full dark smoke, light comes, Sridevi is there. I was surprised. Then suddenly, I see a hero’s backside. He is combing his hair. So, I tried to see who the hero was. He was none other than Salman Sir. So, I tried to go one step forward, and I saw the guard looking at me. He said no. So, I went outside and thought that one day I would direct his film. So, after so many years, I have directed the film with him.”

Murugadoss and SRK:

In this launch, the director expressed his dream wish about working with Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan in the future. According to the reports if his wish completes, he is one of the few directors in South India to work with three Khans in Bollywood.

In an interview, he said that after Sikandar’s release, he already had one Tamil film project to complete. So after that, he is going to plan to collaborate with SRK. He said, “Definitely, it is (on my bucket list), I want to work with him.”
