The chartbuster song “Oo Antava Mama” from Pushpa: The Rise featuring Samantha Ruth Prabhu gained immense popularity. Her striking dance moves alongside Allu Arjun was loved by fans across the country. However recent reports suggest that Samantha was not the initial choice for this special number.

According to one of the interviews by Pushpa producer, the song was first offered to actress Ketika Sharma. Ketika who made her debut with the Telugu film Romantic was approached for this high profile dance number. The film’s makers initially considered her for the song by believing her vibrant on screen presence would suit the role. But later the team decided to go with Samantha by hoping her stardom would bring added attention to the movie.

Music composer Devi Sri Prasad’s electrifying beats paired with singer Indravathi Chauhan’s powerful vocals made “Oo Antava” a massive hit. The song became an internet sensation by amassing millions of views on YouTube. The bold choreography and Samantha’s performance further boosted its success.

Meanwhile Ketika Sharma recently performed a special dance number in Nithiin’s movie “Robin Hood.” Her performance was widely appreciated by making her a hot topic once again. Fans are now speculating how things would have turned out if she had starred in “Oo Antava” instead.

Regardless of the initial choice, Samantha’s involvement undoubtedly contributed to the song’s historic success. Also the song got her fame pan-India wide. Meanwhile Pushpa 2 special song Kissik featured Sreeleela and she also bagged blockbuster status by the song.

On the work front, Samantha is last seen in Kushi starring Vijay Devarakonda and directed by Shiv Nirvana. She is soon to be seen in Maa Inti Bangaram. This film also marks her debut as a producer. This film Maa Inti Bangaram is currently in pre production and is expected to begin filming soon
