In a recent interview, the cast of Singham addressed the disagreement with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. They also explained why they were unable to prevent the clash and had to postpone.
Diwali 2024 saw the arrival of two massive box office hits, Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and while many expected a clash between the two star-studded films, both are surprisingly doing well and have captivated the hearts of audiences. Now, director Rohit Shetty and actor Ajay Devgn have broken their silence on the feud, claiming that they tried to avoid it. However, the cop drama’s Ramayan theme was the one difficulty that prevented them from postponing its release.
In a recent interview, Singham Again director Rohit Shetty expressed his delight at the film’s excellent reception.
He stated that the film has been doing well at the box office and continues to earn significant money for theaters. Shetty added that they tried to avoid releasing the film around the same time as Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, but the Diwali theme played a significant role in their choice to do so.
He further mentioned that within a week of their launches, both films have grossed more than Rs 300 crores, which is an unusual feat.
Ajay Devgn also discussed the box office fight between his film Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiya 3. He admitted that while they had attempted to avoid the clash, things don’t always go as planned.
He stated, “We all tried to avoid that clash on Diwali, but it didn’t happen. I never want any film to clash at the box office because the industry somehow suffers from that. However, given the theme of Singham Again, we couldn’t give up on this release date. But despite the clash, both films are performing well, so it’s all good.”
Singham Again is an action-packed cop drama that stars Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, Jackie Shroff, and Ranveer Singh. Salman Khan makes a rare guest appearance in the film.
Meanwhile, Anees Bazmee directs Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, a horror-comedy starring Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit Nene, and Triptii Dimri. It’s directed by Anees Bazmee.
Both Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiya 3 are now playing in theaters.
