Plane Over Tirumala Temple:A few days ago, the Tirumala temple administration in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, demanded that the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation declare the Tirumala shrine a ‘no-fly zone.’ On Thursday morning, once again the anger of the devotees erupted. A plane passed over the temple, which the devotees objected to. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) had written to the Ministry of Civil Aviation demanding that it ensure that aircraft do not fly over the temple. According to a report by ANI, he cited the guidelines of Agama Shastra for this.
On March 1, TTD Chairman BR Naidu wrote a letter to Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarappu Rammohan Naidu demanding a no-fly zone. In the letter, Naidu referred to taking care of the temple’s sanctity, security concerns, and sentiments of the devotees. He said that due to low-flying planes and helicopters over Tirumala, the sacred atmosphere of the Sri Venkateswara temple and its surroundings is disturbed. The trust had said that if Tirumala is declared a no-fly zone, then it will be easier to preserve the sanctity of the shrine, cultural, and spiritual heritage.
TTD had requested the Union Minister to take immediate action in this matter. BR Naidu also raised his demand in a social media post. Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarpu also replied to this letter. He said officials are in discussion with air traffic controllers to explore alternative flight routes. In a press conference held in Hyderabad, he said that we are looking for a way with navigation and air traffic controllers. Many religious places have sent letters to us to declare a no-fly zone. We are looking for an alternative. However, Naidu also clarified that there is no provision to declare any area as a no-fly zone.
