Rising Cancer Risks: Cancer is a disease that can be fatal for any human being. According to a report, experts talk about many types of pollution, due to which the risk of cancer seems to be increasing. The doctor said that cancer cases are increasing rapidly in India. The National Cancer Registry Program of the Indian Council of Medical Research has estimated a 12 percent increase between 2020 and 2025. Cancer cases are estimated to reach 1.57 lakh this year.

The doctor says that a worrying thing in cancer cases among the youth. We know that tobacco consumption, alcohol consumption, and obesity can cause cancer. These still account for a large part of cancer in India; other factors, such as pollution, are also causing this disease. Studies are being done to link air pollution, chemicals ever-present in our water and soil, and ultra-processed food to cancer.

Reasons for Rising Cancer

Experts around the world revealed that, in Mumbai, they said that these days the main reasons for this are the change in the lifestyle of Indians, increasing pollution, and late detection of diseases. Apart from this, cases of lung, mouth, and colorectal cancer are increasing due to increasing consumption of tobacco and alcohol, processed food, and lack of nutrients in food. Obesity is also increasing cancer cases.


Experts say that chemicals released from the industry have increased water and air pollution. Many types of cancer are occurring due to pollution particles in water, air, and food, in which the risk of respiratory and stomach cancer increases.

How To Prevent Cancer

Preventing cancer involves adopting a healthy lifestyle. Eat a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Avoid tobacco and limit alcohol consumption. Regular exercise helps maintain a healthy weight. Protect your skin from excessive sun exposure. Attend routine health screenings and vaccinations, and stay informed about cancer risks.
