The Vontimitta Brahmotsavam 2025 will soon commence at the Kodandarama Swamy Temple in Vontimitta, Andhra Pradesh. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has completed all the preparations for this grand event.
The Kodandarama Temple stands as a sacred Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Rama. It sits in Vontimitta town, Vontimitta Mandal, about 25 kilometers from Kadapa and near Rajampet. The temple showcases the Vijayanagara architectural style and ranks among the largest in the region. The temple complex and its adjoining structures hold the status of centrally protected monuments.
The festival begins with Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam on April 1, 2025. During this purification ritual, temple priests cleanse the temple and its surroundings with sacred water mixed with sandalwood, turmeric, and other aromatic substances. After the ritual, devotees can have darshan from 11:30 AM onwards.
The Brahmotsavam will officially start on April 6 with Dwajarohanam at 9:30 AM. In the evening, Shesha Vahana Seva will take place. The festival will continue for ten days with different vahana sevas.
One of the most important events is the Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam.It will be held on April 11 at 8:30 PM. Devotees from different parts of the country visit the temple to witness this divine wedding ceremony.
The Rathotsavam takes place on April 12. On this day, the temple priests carry the deities in a grand procession on a decorated chariot. The festival concludes on April 15 with Pushpayagam, a floral offering ceremony.
The Kodandarama Swamy Temple at Vontimitta is a significant religious site in Andhra Pradesh. TTD took over its management in 2015 and has organized the annual Brahmotsavam since then.
Devotees from various places are expected to attend this year’s festival. Temple authorities have arranged food, accommodation, and security to ensure a smooth experience for all visitors.
