Kashmir’s First Vande Bharat Express Launch by PM Modi

The long wait of the people of Kashmir is now going to end. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to flag off the first Vande Bharat Express from Jammu-Katra to Kashmir on April 19. This historic occasion will also symbolize the success of the 272 km long Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail project, which has been completed after many years of hard work. This rail service will provide great convenience in connecting the people of Kashmir with other parts of the country.


The train will run from Katra initially

Repair work is currently going on at the Jammu railway station, so the Vande Bharat train will be started from Katra. The trial run of this train has already been successfully completed and the Railway Safety Commissioner (CRS) has also given it the green signal. This train will run from Katra to Baramulla and will be a new beginning of fast, comfortable and modern rail service on this route.

PM Modi will inaugurate the world’s highest railway bridge PM Modi will also visit Udhampur on April 19, where he will inaugurate the world’s highest railway bridge, Chenab Bridge. This bridge is 359 meters high, that is, it is 35 meters higher than the Eiffel Tower. The total length of this bridge is 1,315 meters and its arch span is 467 meters.

Chenab Bridge is considered a marvel of engineering and has also become the world’s highest arch railway bridge. Railway project started in 1997 The dream of connecting Kashmir with the rail network was seen in 1997, but due to geographical conditions, weather and difficult construction challenges, it took a long time to complete. This rail project was stuck and extended several times, but finally it has been successfully completed. The project includes 38 tunnels and 927 bridges, the longest of which is 12.75 kilometers (T-49 tunnel). It is also India’s longest transport tunnel. People of Kashmir will get huge benefit
With the running of this Vande Bharat train, the travel time between Jammu and Srinagar will be reduced considerably. Till now, train service was available only from Sangaldan to Baramulla in Kashmir, while trains used to run from Katra to other parts of the country. But with this new train, the journey from Katra to Kashmir will become even easier.
