AP to Hold Aadhaar Camps for 0-6 Year Olds in Two Phases

Aadhaar Camps: The state government has announced special Aadhaar camps for children aged 0-6 years. These camps will take place in two phases. The first phase will be from April 3 to April 5, while the second phase will be from April 8 to April 11.

The Village and Ward Secretariats:

Department is organizing these camps to ensure all children receive Aadhaar cards. The department has directed district collectors to take necessary steps for mandatory

Aadhaar registration.

Aadhaar Camps:

Reports show that 11,65,264 children are in the state. Among them, 1,95,735 children have birth certificates but no Aadhaar cards. The highest number is in Nellore district, with 12,218 children, while Annamayya district has the lowest, with 4,001 children.

Some children missed Aadhaar registration due to relocation or moving to other states. The lack of geo-tagging has also caused difficulties in tracking their data. To address this, the government has decided to conduct two special Aadhaar camps in all village and ward secretariats.

Aadhaar Camp Schedule:

The camps will be held in two sessions. The first session is from April 3 to April 5, and the second is from April 8 to April 11. Besides new Aadhaar enrollments, people who need to update their Aadhaar details can also visit these camps. The government has identified 52.02 lakh individuals whose details require updates.

Digital assistants and ward education: secretaries assigned to this process will be relieved of other duties during the camp period. The state director of the Village and Ward Secretariat Department, M. Shivaprasad, has issued instructions to all district collectors and officials.

District collectors will pass these instructions to Mandal Parishad Development Officers (MPDOs). The MPDOs will gather data from Anganwadi centers and secretariats to identify eligible children. Based on this data, special Aadhaar camps will be planned.

Documents Required for Aadhaar Enrollment:

1. Birth certificate with a QR code.

2. Aadhaar enrollment application form.

3. Only the child’s mother or father can bring the child to the camp.

4. No other guardian is allowed.

5. The parent bringing the child must carry their Aadhaar card.

6. Aadhaar registration for children is free of cost.
