Bollywood’s famous actor Manoj Kumar (87) passed away. He was admitted to the hospital on Friday morning with liver problems. Manoj, who excelled among the heroes of yesteryear in Bollywood, was known for his patriotic films. Bollywood is expressing shock at his death. The Prime Minister also responded on social media.
Veteran Bollywood actor Manoj Kumar (87) passed away. He breathed his last in the hospital in the early hours of Friday. Manoj was admitted to the hospital with a liver disease and finally died. It is understood that he died due to cirrhosis. According to reports, he left this world around 3 am on Friday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bollywood celebrities are expressing condolences on the death of Manoj Kumar.
Indian Prime Minister Modi responded by tweeting, “Manoj Kumar’s death has deeply affected me. He was someone who thought a lot about his country. He made numerous patriotic films. Manoj’s devotion to the country is indescribable. His death is a huge loss. May his soul rest in peace.”
Manoj Kumar made his Bollywood debut as an actor with the film Fashion in 1957. He achieved success with the film Kanch Ki Gudiya in 1961. The thriller film Gum Naam, which came out in 1965, was a blockbuster and an industry hit. After that, he impressed by playing the role of Bhagat Singh. He gained fans across India with the patriotic film Purab Aur Paschim. He also gained the nickname Bharat Kumar through the patriotic film Kranti, released in 1981.
Manoj Kumar also acted and directed in the film Shor. Manoj also received the Filmfare Award for Best Director for the film Roti Kapada Aur Makhan. He received the Padma Shri in 1992, the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999, and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2015. He officially joined the BJP during the 2004 general elections. The BJP leadership and Bollywood celebrities are expressing their deepest condolences over the death of Manoj Kumar.
