Amazon’s new AI feature ‘By for Me’ is launched, which with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) can buy goods for you from another website without leaving the app. This feature is currently in testing mode and only a few users are getting it on Amazon’s Android and iOS apps. Through this feature, you can also order those products directly from the brand’s website which are not available on Amazon. Let’s know about this new feature in detail.
Amazon has launched a new AI feature ‘By for Me’, which is currently available to select users in the US. The special thing about this feature is that with this, users can buy goods from third party websites without leaving the Amazon app. This entire process takes place through an AI agent which is based on Amazon’s Nova and Anthropic’s Claude model. This AI agent uses Amazon’s Bedrock service, which allows creating generative applications using large AI models.
How does the ‘Buy for Me’ feature work?
When a user views a product that is not available on Amazon but is available on a third-party brand store, a new button ‘Buy for Me’ will appear there. Clicking on this button will take the user to Amazon’s checkout page, where he has to confirm his delivery information, taxes, shipping charges and payment details. Amazon sends this information securely (by encrypting) to the third party seller. After this, the same seller prepares and sends the order. You will receive an email regarding order confirmation directly from the brand (seller) from whom you have ordered the goods.

Order Tracking and Customer Service
Users can track their ‘Buy for Me’ orders in a separate tab in the ‘Your Orders’ section of the Amazon app. However, the responsibility of delivery, return, exchange and customer service of the goods purchased through this feature will not be of Amazon but of the concerned third party brand. This means that if there is any problem with the product, the user will have to contact the same brand from which the product has been purchased.
Amazon says that this feature is currently available only on Android and iOS apps for select users of America. Initially it will work only with some limited brand stores and products, but more brands and products will be added to it in the future. Apart from this feature, Amazon is also testing another option ‘Shop Direct’, in which users can order directly by visiting the brand’s website. No information has been given yet about when the ‘Buy for Me’ feature will come to India and other countries.
