Arjun’s character in Zoya Akhtar’s directorial ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ was first offered to Ranbir Kapoor. But Ranbir backed out of this film, and then this role was given to Hrithik Roshan. The film got a tremendous response, and it became a film that showed the importance of friendship and life very well. If Ranbir had been a part of this film, perhaps a different flavor would have been seen in the story.
The role of Murad in ‘Gully Boy’ was also offered to Ranbir Kapoor, but he refused to do it. Later, this character went to Ranveer Singh, and he played it with full dedication. The film not only rocked the box office, but Ranveer also got a memorable role in his career. This could have been a new experiment for Ranbir, which he missed.
Once again, Zoya Akhtar approached Ranbir for ‘Dil Dhadakne Do.’ Ranbir was to be given the role of Kabir in this, but he refused to do it. This role went to Ranveer Singh, and the film got a good response with a multi-starrer cast. Ranbir’s presence in this story revolving around family and relationships would have been really interesting.
Ranbir was also first selected for ‘2 States’ based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel. But he turned down this offer, and then Arjun Kapoor played this role. His chemistry with Alia Bhatt was well liked, and the film got tremendous success. If Ranbir and Alia’s pairing had been seen on the big screen at that time, then there would have been a different magic.
Ranbir was offered the role of Bittu Sharma in ‘Band Baaja Baaraat,’ but he lost this opportunity. This film later became Ranveer Singh’s debut film, and he won the hearts of the audience with this role.
