Seven-Foot RTC Conductor: Amin Ahmad Ansari who is a seven-foot-tall conductor working for the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has been struggling to perform his duties due to his unusual height. The standard height inside RTC buses is 195 cm while Ansari stands at 214 cm. This height difference has made his daily work challenging and this leading to severe discomfort and health issues.
Ansari has been facing several difficulties, including:
– He has to bend his head throughout his shift and this is causing severe neck and back pain.
– He spends nearly 10 hours inside buses daily and this makes his condition worse.
-He has developed chronic pain and sleep deprivation due to his working conditions.
Due to these struggles, videos and posts about his situation went viral on social media. Many passengers and netizens urged the government to intervene and provide him with a more suitable job.
After the issue gained attention, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy responded quickly. He immediately instructed Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar to find an alternative job for Ansari within TSRTC. Following this, the minister announced on social media that RTC MD Sajjanar had been directed to assign Ansari a new role.
The decision has been widely appreciated by the public. Many praised the Telangana government for responding to Ansari’s difficulties and taking action. Social media users expressed their relief that he would no longer have to suffer due to his height related challenges.
Ansari, a resident of Shahinagar in Hyderabad, lost his father in 2021. His father worked as a head constable at the Kachiguda depot. After his father’s passing, Ansari was given a job in TSRTC under the compassionate appointment scheme. But his unusual height made it difficult for him to work as a bus conductor.
Now with government intervention, he is expected to be reassigned to a more suitable role within TSRTC. This move ensures his well-being while allowing him to continue serving in the transport department.
