An Air India Express pilot experienced a heart attack at Delhi airport. Shortly after successfully piloting a Srinagar-Delhi flight on Wednesday evening, April 9, 2025, the pilot’s death was confirmed by an airline representative.
“We are very sorry for the loss of a cherished coworker who passed away from a medical ailment. We send our condolences to the family during this difficult time,” an Air India Express representative said. “As we all deal with this immense loss, we offer them whatever support we can. While we pledge to support the appropriate authorities in their due procedure, we ask everyone involved to respect privacy at this time and refrain from needless speculation,” the representative stated.
After landing in Delhi on a flight from Srinagar, the pilot, Armaan, vomited inside the aircraft. The information was revealed by several airline staff. At the airline’s dispatch office at the IGI airport, the pilot experienced a heart attack. He was taken to a hospital, where medical professionals pronounced him dead.
In an effort to reduce air crew tiredness, the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) submitted a staged roadmap to the Delhi High Court in February that would impose greater restrictions on pilots’ flying hours and duration. According to an HT report, the strategy called for reducing night flying beginning on November 1, 2025, and raising pilots’ weekly rest time from 36 to 48 hours beginning on July 1, 2025.
