Secunderabad Railway Station: As part of a ₹720 crore modernization project, the South-Central Railway authorities started tearing down the 151-year-old Secunderabad Railway Station.

According to a senior railway official, the famous monument, which was constructed in 1874 and renovated in 1952 and is regarded as one of the nation’s oldest railway stations. Presently, it is being demolished to create room for a contemporary station with top-notch amenities on par with an international airport. Let’s now look at the development process and their complete plan.

Development Process & Complete Details:
As of now, the demolition of the main terminal building towards the north side has been completed. The officials have sped up the work and are expecting to complete the project by the end of the year. According to the officials, once the station gets revamped, this is going to be the most modern railway station in this country.

Developments:
In this development, the railway station is going to have two terminal buildings on the northern and southern sides. Each building is going to have three floors with a double-story sky concourse. It is also reported that almost 26 lifts and 32 escalators are planned for the passengers. Apart from this, two wide footbridges are in the process.

Parking and Station Facilities:

For the parking facilities, station authorities have planned to construct multi-level underground parking. This is going to reduce the heavy traffic near the station and help passengers travel easily. Presently, the northern terminal works are going on. According to the local, the works are in a fast paced, and this terminal is going to look like an airport with modernized ticket counters, retail counters, food courts, and spacious lounges. Apart from this, the southern part of the terminal construction is going on. According to the reports, the parking and other necessary arrangements are almost completed as of now.

According to the media sources, this station is going to be the most advanced modernized station in this country. Recently government inaugurated the Cherlapalli Railway Station. Presently, this station is one of the modern railway stations in India. In this station, they have focused on installing sleeping pods with wifi facilities. This same plan is also expected in Secunderabad Railway Station. Apart from this, the upcoming modern station is going to high high-tech ticketing systems. In the revamping process, they have focused on rebuilding the station with modern standards. It is said that they are focused on making this station look like an airport.
