It is known that the Revanth government has brought the Indiramma Housing Scheme for the poor and homeless in Telangana. As part of the Indiramma Housing Scheme, the government has sanctioned houses to 71 thousand people in the first phase. However, the authorities are receiving complaints that many of them are ineligible. It is learned that the government has made a key decision in this context. The authorities are investigating the fact that the names of those who already have houses are on the list and they have not started the construction work of the houses.
It is reported that the authorities are preparing for re-verification once again. It is also reported that they are planning to withdraw the house sanction documents given to them.
Meanwhile, this scheme is planned to be implemented in phases. In the first phase, the focus is on assisting those who have their land. 3,500 houses will be allotted to each constituency across Telangana. The houses will be sanctioned in the name of women. Those below the poverty line and those with ration cards are eligible for this scheme.
Those living in huts, mud walls, and temporary houses can also apply. Applications can be made for this scheme in public administration and village councils. Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries who have their own land will be provided with financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh as a 100 percent subsidy for house construction. The houses constructed under this scheme should be at least 400 square feet. RCC roof, kitchen, and toilet must be constructed in every house.
Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has already announced that this scheme will be implemented transparently. He said that there will be no irregularities in the selection of beneficiaries. Houses will be sanctioned only to those who are eligible. Even if houses are sanctioned, they will be taken back. As part of that, the government plans to take back the houses recently given to ineligible people.
