Property Tax Relief in AP: The Andhra Pradesh government has extended the deadline for property tax interest waiver. The new deadline is April 30. Municipal authorities have advised property owners with pending dues to take advantage of this extension.


Property Tax Relief in AP:

The AP government has provided another opportunity for property owners to clear their tax dues. Earlier, the waiver scheme ended on March 31. Due to high demand, the government has now extended the deadline.

50% Interest Waiver Until April 30


The municipal department has announced a 50% interest waiver on pending property tax dues. This applies to urban local bodies across the state. The decision was taken after receiving multiple requests from the public. The extension will help more taxpayers benefit from the scheme.

How the Waiver Works?

For the 2024-25 financial year, the government has announced a 50% interest waiver for pending property tax payments. Those who clear their dues before April 30 will receive this benefit. Those who have already paid their dues, including interest will get a 50% waiver on the next financial year’s property tax.

To facilitate payments, municipal authorities have set up special counters. In Vijayawada, 13 cash counters and six additional counters in three zonal offices have been opened. Payments can be made from 8 AM to 8 PM.

Telangana Offers 90% Interest Waiver

The Telangana government has introduced a One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme. Under this, property tax defaulters in municipalities and corporations can avail of a 90% interest waiver. Those who clear all dues at once before the deadline will receive this benefit.

The scheme ended on March 31, generating over ₹1,000 crore in revenue. Homeowners who already paid their dues including interest will get a 90% interest waiver on next year’s property tax.This will be great news for tax payers.
