30-Year-Old IPS Officer Booked for Raping Doctor: Fake Promise?

According to media sources on Sunday, a 30-year-old IPS officer was arrested for allegedly raping a female doctor in Nagpur, Maharashtra, after promising to marry her.


After the FIR was filed in the case, the 28-year-old woman went to the Imamwada Police Station in Nagpur on Friday to file a complaint.

The complaint alleges that in November 2022, the IPS officer and the doctor communicated over Instagram. According to the police, the woman was enrolled in an MBBS program at the time, while the accused was studying for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams.


Before long, their internet chats became phone calls. According to the police, the accused engaged in a sexual relationship with the woman after they became friends and made a vow to marry her. According to the official, the accused refused to marry the woman and began avoiding her after being chosen for the Indian Police Service (IPS). According to the police, the woman became irate and went to the Imamwada police with her complaint after the man’s relatives failed to reply to her.

A case on charges of rape was filed against the IPS officer on Saturday in response to her complaint, and they indicated that additional investigation was in progress.
