How intense is the Afghanistan Earthquake?

The epicenter was 121 kilometers below the surface. The epicenter was 164 kilometers from the city of Baghlan in the Hindu Kush region. A 6.3-magnitude earthquake in Herat province in October 2023 left a deep hole in the ground. That earthquake killed 2,445 people and injured 9,420. The earthquake severely affected 11 villages in Zinda Jan district. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) said the latest epicenter was 55 km away.
