Liquor Ban: A huge shock has come to the liquor lovers in Hyderabad. A ban has been imposed on liquor for four days at a time. With this, liquor will not be available on those days. If they choose illegal ways to buy it, the police will also take strict action against them. Why is there a ban on liquor? On which days will liquor not be available? Let’s see the answers to questions like this now.
Ban Till Elections Complete:
The MLC elections will be held in Hyderabad on the 23rd of this month. Elections will be held regarding the MLC quota of local bodies. In this backdrop, Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand has issued orders banning alcohol to prevent any untoward incidents. He has ordered that liquor shops be closed from 4 pm today until 6 pm on Wednesday, the day of the elections. The CP has also suggested that wineries, bars, and restaurants should be closed on the 25th, the day of counting. This ban will be in effect from 6 am on that day to 6 am on the 26th.
Strict action:
City CP CV Anand has warned that strict action will be taken against anyone who violates the ban on alcohol and sells it. He also warned that wine shop permits will be canceled. The Police Commissioner made it clear that even if alcohol is sold in a way other than shops, it will be considered a crime and cases will be registered. He asked everyone to follow the police orders and cooperate in ensuring that the elections are held peacefully.
Preparations underway for polling
On the other hand, the EC is making preparations in full swing for the local body MLC election. The EC plans to set up two polling booths at the GHMC headquarters. All voters will be allotted serial numbers from one to 112, and arrangements are being made so that voters with serial numbers from 1 to 56 in polling booth no. 1 can exercise their right to vote, and voters with serial numbers from 57 to 112 in polling booth 2. To ensure that there are no errors in this election process, Election Returning Officer Anurag Jayanthi has already completed the second phase of an election training program for the election staff.
