Top 10 Scorers in UPSC Civil Services 2024

UPSC Civil Services 2024: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) confirmed in a notification that Shakti Dubey had won the 2024 Civil Services Examination (CSE). Harshita Goyal and Dongre Archit Parag secured the second and third positions, respectively, behind Dubey. With a breakdown by category, 335 General, 109 Economically Weaker Section (EWS), 318 Other Backward Classes (OBC), 160 Scheduled Caste (SC), and 87 Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates were recommended for various civil services positions out of the 1009 candidates who took this year’s exam.


Who is Shakti Dubey AIR 1:
Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, native Shakti Dubey achieved the All India Rank 1 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024. Her road to the top began in 2018, soon after obtaining her MSc in Biochemistry from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), following a BSc from Allahabad University. Political science and international relations were her elective subjects when she took the test, according to the UPSC commission.

Selection Process & Examination:
Interviews started on January 7, 2025, as part of the UPSC’s selection process for some prominent positions, such as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS). The 2845 candidates who passed the main exam were the target audience for these interviews. To accommodate more openings across the services, the UPSC later changed the initial announcement of 1056 vacancies to 1132. This change demonstrates the UPSC’s dedication to hiring people for a variety of civil service positions, guaranteeing that a wide spectrum of abilities and capabilities is represented.
