The controversy surrounding singer Sunita and the show Padutha Teeyaga has been heating up over the past few days. One of the contestants, Pravasthi Aradhya, made serious allegations against Sunita and the show’s team. She claimed the show eliminated her unfairly, despite having no faults in her performance. In the last few hours, the issue has gone viral on the internet. In response, singer Sunita issued a statement addressing the matter. However, most people online seem to support Pravasthi.

While similar incidents have involved actors before, some people still refuse to believe that such discrimination exists in the music industry, too. Sunita and music director M.M. Keeravani recently sparked another debate by making allegations against lyricist Chandrabose. Meanwhile, reports suggest that Sunita’s husband also responded to the situation. According to some sources, Pravasthi has apologized to Sunita and is trying to get another chance on the show. Whether this is true or not remains to be seen. Many people believe it’s a positive step if Pravasthi holds a press meet to acknowledge any mistakes. Netizens continue to show strong support for her.

In her video statement, singer Sunita said, “You used to sing beautifully in your childhood. If you had maintained that same consistency till now, I would have been one of the happiest well-wishers.” She added that she felt deeply hurt after seeing Pravasthi speak negatively about her in the media.

Sunita also addressed the controversy about contestants singing only M.M. Keeravani’s songs on the show. She questioned Pravasthi, saying, “You have participated in many shows. Don’t you know how the song selection process works?” Sunita explained that the channel has rights to only a limited number of songs. She stated that Pravasthi should have mentioned these limitations before accusing the show unfairly. Ignoring these facts and making baseless allegations seemed immature to her.

She further mentioned that the show’s management would soon release an official statement about the selection process and song choices. Toward the end of her statement, Sunita recalled an earlier moment from a classical music show. “When you felt upset during one round, I personally came and comforted you. I even explained the round in detail. Maybe you forgot that moment, but the other participants still remember it. Since you’ve now accused me, I had to clarify this.”

Regarding the favoritism allegations, Sunita responded strongly. “You say I favor other contestants. Just think—who did I give an opportunity to work with Mango Music? I even made sure you and your mother reached home safely when you were alone. How can you forget all of this and still throw random allegations at me? Isn’t that wrong?”
