Pahalgam Attack: DGCA Directs More Flights to Srinagar & No Fees Hike

Pahalgam Attack: On April 23, the Aviation Minister’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) sent out a warning to airlines about “connectivity from Srinagar to other cities in the country.”

In a media report, the DGCA stated, “Following the incident in Pahalgam, tourists have unexpectedly sought to return to their homes. We have advised airlines to take swift action to increase the number of flights in response to the heightened demand. Additionally, airlines should ensure uninterrupted connectivity from Srinagar to various destinations across India to facilitate the evacuation of stranded tourists.”

In conclusion, they added, “We also request airlines to consider waiving cancellation and rescheduling fees and to provide all necessary assistance to tourists facing unexpected circumstances and challenges during this difficult time.”
