Kalima In Islam: Jammu Kashmir is shocking the whole world with its terror attack. Terrorists committed a heinous act in Pahalgam, Anantnag district. The victims revealed that they took the lives of tourists by asking about their religion. The gunmen, who came in military uniforms, asked, ‘Are you Muslim? Then they said the Kalima and took their lives. This has raised the question of what Kalima means among Hindus across the country. Everyone is searching for the importance of Kalima in Islam. What is the meaning of Kalima?
Kalima or Shahada is the foundation stone of the Muslim faith. It is a declaration of belief in the oneness of Allah and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad. There are a total of 6 Kalimas in Islam. Each of them has some unique benefits.

The first Kalima
is called Kalima Tayyib. It means ‘Purity’. The first Kalima indicates that ‘Allah is the only God. He has no equal. Muhammad is the Prophet and His Messenger.’


The second Kalima
is called Kalima Shahada. It means the testimony of God. The second Kalima indicates that ‘I bear witness that there is no god but Allah. He is One. He has no partner. Muhammad is His servant.’

The third KalimaIt 
is called Kalima Tamjeed by Muslims. It means ‘Glory to God’. The third Kalima says, ‘Glory to God. Praise be to God. There is no god but God. God is the Greatest. There is no power and strength except with God.’

The fourth KalimaIt 
is called Kalima Tawheed. It means oneness. The fourth Kalima means ‘There is no god but Allah. He is the One. To Him belongs the kingdom and the praise. Allah gives life and takes it away. He never dies. He is the Most Gracious, the Most Glorious. In his hand is everything. He has power over everything.’

The fifth Kalima
is called Kalima Astaghfar. It means ‘repentance’. It says, ‘Forgive me for all my sins that I have committed unknowingly/secretly/openly. Forgive me for my known sins and my unknown sins. You are the One who covers up and forgives both secrets and sins. Yours is the power and the might.’

The sixth Kalima
is called Kalima Radde Kufr. It means the rejection of disbelief. It says, ‘I believe that there is no god but Allah, He is One, He has no partners. I reject polytheism, kufr, and false beliefs. You are the one true God, You are my God.

How are the Kalima in Islam useful?

The six Kalimas help Muslims strengthen their connection with Allah and deepen their faith. They clearly convey the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, affirming that Allah is the only God. By reciting these Kalimas, Muslims reinforce their spiritual bond and declare their commitment to Islam’s core principles.

Meanwhile, people across the country are urging Prime Minister Modi to take strong action against those responsible for the Kashmir massacre. They are demanding a new military operation, similar to the previous surgical strikes, and insisting that the attackers who killed innocent tourists must not go unpunished.
