Sithara Entertainments: In a dramatic turn of events that has the rumour mill abuzz in the Telugu film industry, one of the top production companies Sithara Entertainments decided to go ahead and state that they would be steering clear of overseas premieres prior to 05:00 AM IST on the day of release for all their future releases. This is a far cry from releasing Telugu movies in the traditional format and the way these movies have traditionally been consumed by audiences across the globe.

The Logic behind the Decision

Sithara Entertainments, renowned for churning out box office hits and nurturing creative storytelling. Has taken this decision with a view to providing the international audience with a uniform experience. In an attempt to schedule the first-day shows as per the Indian Standard Time, the production house aims to prevent spoilers and keep the suspense intact for the Indian as well as the global audience. This is also evidence of their adherence to ensuring first-show precedence, thus holding the cinema magic in place for everyone at once.

Following Others’ Footsteps

Interestingly, Sithara Entertainments is not the production house that first experimented with this tactic. Previously, large banners like Haarika & Hassine Creations and Mythri Movie Makers tried something similar with some movies. Those production houses were trying to make a level-playing field among fans across the globe by lowering the possibility of plot leaks and spoilers that otherwise happen because of the pre-release overseas shows.
