Sitaare Zameen Par: Aamir Khan’s Film To Release on THIS date

Sitaare Zameen Par: Aamir Khan, Bollywood superstar, has finally declared the release date of his much-awaited film, Sitaare Zameen Par. The movie will be directed by RS Prasanna and produced by Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan. It will have a philosophical storyline related to social consciousness and mental illness.

Release Date and Expectation

Aamir Khan, in an interview last month, announced Sitaare Zameen Par will release on June 20, 2025. Fans have been anticipating the project, which has been touted as a theme-based follow-up to his 2007 blockbuster Taare Zameen Par. While the previous film was about dyslexia, the new project takes it up a notch by tackling themes of mental health and inclusivity and hence is a modern and universal tale.

The Theme of the Film

Aamir Khan explained the theme of the movie, pointing out that it is mental health. He spoke about his character, Gulshan, as a human being with flaws and going through internal conflict. The transformation journey of Gulshan through encounters with differently-abled people is the emotional nucleus of the movie. Aamir pointed out that the story has a mix of comedy and emotional scenes, trying to reach out to the audience on a deep level.

Cast and Inspirations

The movie has an excellent cast with Darsheel Safary and Genelia Deshmukh as the main cast. Interestingly enough, Sitaare Zameen Par drew inspiration from Champions. A Spanish film about a basketball coach mentoring a team of mentally challenged kids to play at the championship. The remake ensures one of bringing a new edge but not diluting the original.

Trailer and Marketing

The Sitaare Zameen Par trailer has procured a UA certificate and is likely to release on the big screen along with Raid 2 with Ajay Devgn on May 1, 2025. The trailer, running for 3 minutes and 29 seconds, is likely to give a glimpse into the inspirational and heartwarming journey of the film.
