Zomato 15 Minute Food Service: Zomato has stopped its 15-minute fast food delivery service called ‘Quick’. This decision was taken without any official announcement. Earlier, Zomato introduced this service to deliver food very quickly, within just 15 minutes, in cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Gurugram. It was part of their ‘Everyday’ series.

However this option is now no longer available on the Zomato app. The company has not explained the reason for stopping the service. This is not the first time Zomato has done something like this. In 2022, they launched a 10-minute delivery service called ‘Instant’, which also ended soon after it started.

The main problem with such fast delivery is preparation time. Restaurants already receive many orders. Preparing good-quality food in just a few minutes and delivering it quickly is very difficult. It affects both the cooking process and food quality.

Even though Zomato’s fast food idea didn’t work well, its grocery delivery service is doing much better. Through Blinkit, a company Zomato bought from Grofers, it delivers groceries within 10 minutes. Blinkit is now also starting a new program called ‘Bistro by Blinkit’, where small food items are delivered quickly. But this service is still limited to only a few areas.

This situation shows that fast food delivery is a good idea but very hard to manage. It is difficult to prepare fresh, hot food in 15 minutes without compromising on quality. That is likely the reason Zomato removed the ‘Quick’ service from the app.

In conclusion, delivering food in a short time is exciting for customers, but it is full of challenges for restaurants and delivery teams. Quality and timing must be balanced, and that’s not easy. For now, Zomato has paused this experiment, but it might return with better plans in the future.
