After Tamil Nadu Are Telugu Producers Planning To Ban Fan Reviews?

Recently Tamil Nadu Producers Council (TNPC) released a statement requesting theatre owners to ban fan reviews from theatres during the first show.

The Tamil Nadu Producers Council (TNPC) released a stern statement on Wednesday, pushing theater owners to prohibit fan reviews on YouTube during first-run films. This issue has also been raised in Telugu states, with exhibitors and producers arguing that it affects film collections. When asked about it, producer Dil Raju replied.

Telugu Producers Planning To Ban Fan Reviews?

When asked if Telugu filmmakers intend to take similar measures, the producer, who was promoting his film Sankranthiki Vasthunnam with Venkatesh in Hyderabad, responded, “Kerala has already implemented something similar and Tamil Nadu just took a decision. I’m sure it’ll prove to be a success there,” he said, adding, “I think it’ll automatically be implemented in our state (Andhra Pradesh, Telangana collectively) also.”

However, Raju stated that no final decision has been taken and that it is not his obligation to make an independent conclusion.“But that’s not an independent decision to take; the chamber will meet and discuss it first. The exhibitors are already prepared for this move, so it’ll happen through the chamber soon,” he added, hinting that he also expects a similar move to be implemented in the Telugu states soon.

The makers of the film industry claim that negative reviews are affecting a movie’s run and success. They urge that not all the audience will have the same opinion. On the same issue, Suriya’s Kanguva producer KE Gnanavel Raja claimed that the film’s negative reviews were mostly due to such fan wars. He said, “Initially trolling happened due to fan wars. But the general audience is liking the film, no one’s trolling the content. They’re only trolling due to politics. We’ve seen this happen for Devara too,” he said, citing Koratala Siva’s recent Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor-starrer as an example.
