As per the reports, the makers of Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava are planning to release the film on a more meaningful day for the film. The expected release date would be the middle of February 2025 release. The makers are planning to release the film coinciding with Maharaja Shivaji Jayanti on 19th February. Though the official announcement is yet to be made, the film is already one of the highly anticipated films.

In a recent interview with India Today, celebrated director Laxman Utekar candidly spoke about Chhaava. The filmmaker said, “Everyone knows about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, but no one knows about Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. He had such great courage and was a great warrior, but sadly no one knows about it.”

Reason To Make ‘Chhaava’

The director revealed that, during the pandemic, he read the Marathi novel of the same name by Shivaji Sawant about Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Then he realised that he was a warrior no one knew. The director said, “That’s when I started writing and the idea of Chhaava came to me.” He also said that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj lit the flame, which Sambhaji Maharaj used to set the Mughal Empire on fire.
