Mahira Khan, Pakistan’s leading actress, vented her displeasure at the air strikes on social media. She retweeted a post by Fatima Bhutto, a Pakistani author, condemning the raids. In her Instagram post, Mahira typed, “Seriously cowardly!!! May Allah safeguard our country, may better sense prevail. Ameen.” Her remark soon gained support as many Pakistani social media users expressed similar views.
Hania Aamir also expressed her dissatisfaction over the military operation. In an emotional Instagram caption, she stated, “I don’t have eloquent words at the moment. I only have anger, pain, and a heavy heart. A child is dead. Families are broken. And for what? This isn’t how you keep anyone safe. This is cruelty—plain and simple. You don’t get to blow up innocent people and call it strategy. This isn’t strength. This is shameful. This is cowardly. And we see you.” Many identified with her post, and discussions lit up social media websites.
Operation Sindoor has heightened the tense relations between Pakistan and India. While India regards the strikes as a counter-terrorist initiative, Pakistani actors such as Mahira Khan and Hania Aamir have criticized them as “cruel” and “cowardly.” With tensions still rising, the world observes anxiously, hoping diplomatic solutions to the conflict to curb further escalation.
Indian audience have been admiring and supporting Pakistani actors showing their support. But their remarks on calling India ‘Cowardly’ is not something that fans liked.
