In the video, Khan smiles warmly and introduces himself as Shah Rukh shortly after striking his famous Main Hoon Na pose. The brief exchange quickly set social media ablaze, with users criticizing the apparent lack of international recognition for the icon. However, after a closer examination, a much less shocking truth emerged. The clip misled viewers because it appeared out of context.

Indeed, many comparable videos that Vogue shared on their official Instagram account included reporters posing the identical opening query: “Who are you? “Where are you from?” to famous people around the world. They also asked the same query to supermodel Gigi Hadid and Anne Hathaway.

This pattern suggests that the question didn’t reflect a genuine failure to recognize SRK but was instead part of standard red carpet documentation. Although the incident initially sparked outrage. It now highlights how easily narratives can spiral out of control in the age of social media. Shah Rukh Khan didn’t face a “snub.” Instead, the King of Bollywood responded to a typical red carpet question with the poise and modesty that define him.

The King actor wore a specially designed Sabyasachi ensemble for his first appearance at the Met Gala.
