Sleeper Cells on High Alert: Security Measures in AP and Telangana

Sleeper Cells on High Alert: In recent times, concerns have been rising in Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Telangana about the potential activation of terrorist sleeper cells. These cells could become active following recent events such as Operation Sindoor which targeted terrorist camps across the border. The state governments especially in Hyderabad, have heightened security measures to address the risks posed by these sleeper cells.

Sleeper Cells on High Alert:

Sleeper cells are groups of individuals who lie dormant for a long period only to carry out attacks when the situation demands. Intelligence agencies have been issuing warnings about their possible involvement in future attacks, particularly after incidents like the attack in Pahalgam. These cells often receive support from local networks making it difficult for authorities to detect them in time.

In response, the governments of AP and Telangana have increased their surveillance systems, especially in Hyderabad which has historically been linked to several terrorist plots. Special attention has been paid to key infrastructure, including airports and foreign diplomatic missions. The Telangana Chief Minister has called for strengthening security, ensuring that food supplies remain uninterrupted, and that emergency plans are in place for any eventuality.

The military and local police forces are also on high alert. In particular, the security around sensitive areas such as naval bases and coastal regions has been intensified. Authorities have urged citizens and tourists to be vigilant, and the police have been directed to monitor potential threats closely.

This preparation is vital in light of the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan. The region remains on high alert, with the authorities keen on ensuring the safety of all citizens. The focus on sleeper cells highlights the ongoing risk of terrorism and the necessity of maintaining vigilance to prevent future

attacks.
