Pak PM Shehbaz Sharif Issues Stern Warning Amid Rising Tensions

Pak PM Shehbaz Sharif: India-Pakistan geopolitics has grown more aggressive after India conducted precision attacks on terror camps inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) under Operation Sindoor. As a stern reaction to such military actions, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif vowed to conduct a powerful retaliatory strike, declaring, “Pakistan will take revenge. We will take this war to the end.”


India’s Military Operation: A Targeted Response

India’s operations, aimed at nine key terror infrastructure locations. They were carried out after the April 22 Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir terror attack. Where 26 were killed, including one Nepali national. The April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam had Intelligence reports stating that it included the involvement of The Resistance Front (TRF), the Lashkar-e-Taiba proxy. India’s Army, Navy, and Air Force together, with coordinated precise strikes, eliminated these terror installations.

One of the key targets were sites linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) leader Maulana Masood Azhar and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Hafiz Saeed. The raid was meant to disable terror organizations without escalating tensions or targeting civilian infrastructure.

Pakistan’s Security Committee Approves Retaliation

In retaliation against India’s attack, Pakistan’s National Security Committee (NSC) sanctioned military response. Asserting the military is entitled to retaliate “at a time, place, and manner of its choosing.” The warning suggests the likelihood of further military action, sending fear throughout the region.

But Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has also indicated the possibilities of de-escalation. In a statement, he remarked, “If India is willing to stand down, we will certainly conclude this tension.”
Pakistan’s Admission of Previous Terror Connections

In a candid interview, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif admitted that Pakistan previously has been on the side of terror groups, citing its relationship with the West during the Cold War in Afghanistan. Although as a ploy to deflect some of the blame, there hasn’t been any Western nation that has backed attacks against India.

The actions that followed have left both nations on red alert. While Pakistan makes threats of war, diplomacy could still intervene to prevent greater conflict.
